The family of late Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has publicly dismissed circulating reports that his daughter has given birth to a baby boy.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Haleemah (Lima) Taiwo, another of the late actor’s daughters, issued a clear disclaimer. She stated that claims of her sister Shakirat (Kira) Taiwo welcoming a child were untrue and asked the public to disregard them.

Haleemah explained that the family had been receiving numerous calls and messages from friends and relatives seeking confirmation, which prompted the need for a public clarification. She further appealed for restraint, noting that the family is still mourning the loss of their father and requesting that people stop circulating unverified information about them.

The viral report, accompanied by a short video, described a newborn as “My Daddy’s Carbon Copy” and suggested the birth had taken place only days after Ogogo’s burial. Fact-checks later indicated that the images and footage appeared to be recycled from an earlier period, when Kira had previously welcomed a child while her father was still alive.

Ogogo, a veteran of Yoruba cinema known for his distinctive screen presence and memorable lines, died on 23 August 2026 at the age of 66 after a battle with stage-four cancer. His family has since appealed for privacy as they continue to grieve.
