Tinubu Constitutes APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, Appoints Yari DG
President Bola Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election and appointed former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, as the Director-General of the campaign organisation.
The development marks a major step in the ruling party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election following the commencement of official political campaigns.
The campaign council is expected to coordinate nationwide mobilisation efforts, oversee campaign activities and drive the implementation of the party’s electoral strategy ahead of the poll.
Yari’s appointment places him at the centre of the President’s re-election campaign, with responsibility for coordinating party structures and stakeholders across the country.
The campaign organisation is also expected to include senior party leaders, elected officials, political appointees and other key stakeholders within the APC.
Party officials expressed confidence that the council would strengthen the APC’s campaign efforts and help consolidate support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.
The formation of the council comes as political parties intensify activities ahead of the 2027 elections and unveil strategies for engaging voters nationwide.
Supporters of the President described the appointment of Yari as a reflection of his experience and longstanding involvement in party affairs.
The council is expected to work closely with state chapters of the APC to coordinate grassroots mobilisation and campaign outreach programmes.
Political observers say the establishment of the campaign council signals the beginning of a more organised and coordinated push by the ruling party ahead of the presidential election.
The APC leadership expressed optimism that the campaign structure would enhance the party’s chances and strengthen its preparations for the 2027 electoral contest.
