Award-winning Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has explained why he has no intention of seeking political office despite his family’s deep involvement in politics.

Speaking in a video interview, the music star said he prefers to remain focused on his entertainment career rather than venture into active politics.

Davido noted that while politics is a major part of his family background, he does not see himself pursuing an elected position at any level.

According to him, the demands and responsibilities associated with political office are not in line with the path he has chosen for himself.

The singer stated that he is passionate about music and believes his influence is better utilised through his work in the entertainment industry.

He added that his current career provides him with a platform to connect with people across different backgrounds and make a positive impact without holding public office.

Davido also acknowledged the political involvement of members of his family, including his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, but stressed that their interests do not necessarily reflect his personal ambitions.

He said that although he remains interested in political developments and governance issues, he has no plans to contest for any position.

The Afrobeats star maintained that he would rather continue building his music career and contributing to society through his craft than participate directly in electoral politics.

Davido concluded by saying that, for now, politics is not part of his future plans, as he remains committed to his journey in the entertainment industry.
