Former Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election.

He described the victory as a clear reflection of the confidence and trust the people of the state have in the governor’s leadership.

In a message issued on Sunday, Secondus said the outcome went beyond party success. He noted that it showed the electorate’s faith in Adeleke and his ability to connect with ordinary citizens.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner of the August 15 governorship election earlier on Sunday. The governor, who ran on the Accord Party platform, secured 511,067 votes, while his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, polled 444,815 votes.

Secondus praised the governor’s resilience and dedication, saying the result proved that the voice of the people would always prevail. He urged Adeleke to use his second term to focus on sustainable development, human capital growth and economic revival so that the benefits of governance reach every part of the state.

Adeleke won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji took 11. The victory has continued to draw reactions from political leaders across the country, with many calling on the governor to deepen development with his renewed mandate.
