Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a 23-year-old herder over alleged illegal grazing at the Lamingo Golf Club in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident occurred on August 12, 2026.

Military sources said the troops responded to a report of illegal grazing at the golf club at about 4:18 p.m. On arrival, they arrested the herder, identified as Auwal Sani, along with his cattle.

The suspect was taken into custody for further investigation and necessary action. The arrest forms part of efforts to stop unauthorised grazing on private and public facilities in the area.

Security agencies under Operation Enduring Peace have continued to monitor farming and herding activities across Plateau State. The aim is to protect agricultural and recreational sites while reducing the risk of conflict between communities.

Authorities said the operation reflects ongoing work to maintain peace and ensure that herders and farmers respect designated areas. Investigations into the latest incident are still underway.
