Troops of the Nigerian Army have apprehended a high-profile kidnap commander during a targeted security operation in Enugu State, recovering arms, ammunition, and ransom money.

The tactical operation was executed following intelligence tracking the criminal syndicate’s movements and safe houses in the area.

During the raid, military personnel successfully subdued and arrested the ringleader while recovering several automatic assault rifles, multiple rounds of live ammunition, communication devices, and millions of Naira in cash suspected to be proceeds from recent ransom payments.

Military authorities confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody undergoing interrogation to assist in identifying remaining network members, while security patrols across the region have been intensified to dismantle remaining criminal hideouts.
