Martins Iyeh Becomes First BBNaija Season 11 Housemate Evicted
Martins Iyeh has become the first housemate to leave the Big Brother Naija Season 11 reality show after spending two weeks in the competition.
The 30-year-old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State was evicted during Sunday night’s live show after viewers’ votes determined the fate of contestants nominated for possible eviction.
Martins was among the 24 housemates introduced when the 11th edition of the reality show premiered on July 26.
The season, tagged “Everything Is For The Taking” and also known as “Show Ya Sef”, features a record N160 million prize package, including N100 million in cash and an SUV.
A creative director, visual storyteller and model, Martins entered the competition hoping to use the platform to showcase his personality, creativity and interests to a wider audience.
He listed basketball among his interests and humorously identified mind-reading as one of his supposed hidden abilities.
At the beginning of his time in the house, Martins told viewers that he was primarily interested in enjoying the experience and making the most of his opportunity on the reality show.
“I came here to have fun,” he said during his introduction.
During his two-week stay, Martins formed relationships with several housemates and participated in conversations and social activities that contributed to the early dynamics of the competition.
His birthday was also celebrated in the house shortly after the show’s launch, with his fellow housemates organising a special gathering in his honour.
Mercedes performed during the celebration, while other housemates offered prayers and goodwill messages to mark the occasion.
Martins’ eviction followed a week in which a large number of contestants were placed at risk of leaving the competition.
Sixteen housemates were initially nominated for possible eviction after Head of House Sheba used her powers to save Chimsom Chuka.
Aikou and Flora, meanwhile, remained protected as the season’s Gambits.
The ongoing season has featured weekly nominations, tasks, alliances and other twists as the housemates compete for the grand prize.
With Martins’ departure, the number of contestants in the race for the Season 11 crown has been reduced, as the remaining housemates continue their quest for the N160 million prize package.
