Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie has stirred fresh controversy in the Nigerian entertainment industry after publicly accusing colleague, Zubby Michael and other unnamed filmmakers of hijacking the title of her unreleased movie, a project she says cost her nearly ₦100 million to produce.

In a lengthy video shared on Instagram, Okorie alleged that a film shot more than a decade ago had recently been rebranded and uploaded to YouTube under the title “Queen of Guns,” the same name as her own trademarked project. According to the actress, her film has not been released on any platform, including YouTube, Netflix, or in cinemas, as she intends to hold its premiere for fans in Manchester before rolling it out elsewhere.

She said a search on YouTube turns up at least two productions bearing the title, one posted roughly eleven months ago using her promotional images as a thumbnail, and another that surfaced just three weeks ago featuring Zubby Michael.

Okorie did not hold back in addressing Zubby Michael directly, questioning why he would lend his name to a project carrying the same title as her registered work rather than sticking with whatever working title the film originally had.

She insisted the film in question was an old production dressed up to ride on the buzz surrounding her own release, and maintained that her version remains the authentic, trademarked “Queen of Guns.”

The actress went further, taking aim at unnamed figures within Nollywood whom she accused of copying her ideas, image, and creative style, saying she deliberately keeps her distance from certain people in the industry. She framed herself as the actor other productions are trying to ride on the coattails of, insisting her track record speaks for itself.

The fallout is notable given the history between the two stars. Okorie and Zubby Michael had previously been locked in a public feud before reconciling in 2024, reportedly after veteran actor Pete Edochie stepped in to broker peace between them.

At the time, both actors spoke of leaving their differences behind and even expressed openness to working together again. Okorie’s latest allegations suggest that truce may now be under strain, though Zubby Michael has not yet issued a public response to her claims.
