Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected foreign terrorist fighter, an alleged illegal immigrant, and six suspected logistics suppliers during intelligence-driven operations across Borno State.

In a statement issued in Maiduguri by the Acting Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion, Sector 4, conducted an operation on July 19, 2026, in the Lassa-Dille axis of Askira/Uba Local Government Area.

During the raid, officers apprehended Musa Fashir, a 32-year-old Sudanese national suspected to be a foreign terrorist fighter and collaborator.

Troops also arrested Mary Florence, a 36-year-old Ghanaian national claiming to be an illegal immigrant. Both individuals are currently in military custody undergoing profiling and interrogation to ascertain their involvement with local insurgent networks.

In a separate action, Sector 1 OPHK troops intercepted a logistics supply line along a known insurgent route, apprehending six individuals traveling in five vehicles packed with supplies destined for terrorist elements. Recovered materials included 202 cartons of herbicides, a jerrycan of suspected acid, a Starlink satellite internet device, six bags of NPK fertilizer, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 knapsack sprayer pumps. Military authorities indicated that the chemical items, particularly the fertilizer and acid, will undergo forensic evaluation to determine potential uses in manufacturing improvised explosive devices, as all six suspects and seized items were transferred to the Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation.
