Federal Government Launches Digital Portal to Elevate Made-in-Nigeria Goods Globally

The Federal Government has launched a Digital Standards Platform to modernize Nigeria’s quality infrastructure, improve access to industrial guidelines, and make locally manufactured goods more globally competitive.

The tool was jointly developed by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, the Bureau of Public Procurement, and a private technology firm, Goringo Consult Limited. The platform digitizes access to Nigerian Industrial Standards and compliance tools, allowing manufacturers, businesses, and procurement officers to verify quality metrics easily.

A major feature of this initiative is its integration into public procurement reforms. The Nigerian Industrial Standards Attestation Certificate, which is issued directly through the portal, is now a mandatory bid document for all Federal Government procurement contracts involving goods, works, and services where industrial standards apply.

Speaking at the official launch in Abuja, the Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, described the platform as a landmark reform to deepen industrialization and support the ease of doing business. He noted that the initiative aligns with the administration’s “Nigeria First Policy,” moving standards from physical shelves to digital screens to ensure that local enterprises can meet international quality standards and scale up production.
