Imo State Security Operatives Nab Kidnapping Syndicate Linked to ESN/IPOB

Security operatives in Imo State have successfully carried out a tactical operation resulting in the apprehension of suspected kidnappers and abductors.

According to reports circulating on social media, the incident took place on June 7, 2026, with security forces acting on intelligence to dismantle a criminal cell operating in the area.

A social media post by an online outlet, @fattylincorn_01, alleged that the suspects are believed to be former members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The post claims that the individuals had been “stranded in the bush” following a decline in the profitability of their previous militant activities, prompting them to convert into a kidnapping and abduction syndicate to sustain their operations.

The security forces, described in the report as “gallant officers,” successfully intercepted the group, bringing an end to their reign of terror in the state.

The operation highlights the continuous efforts of the Nigerian security agencies to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens.

In a strong message against criminality, the source emphasized that there is “no space for banditry” in the region. The successful operation is being viewed as a major blow to the criminal elements hiding in the forests of Imo State. Further details regarding the number of suspects arrested and their specific identities are expected to be officially released by the state police command as investigations continue.
