Nigerian Medical Graduate Dies from Injuries Sustained in Russian Airstrike on Ukraine
A 23-year-old Nigerian medical graduate, Nnani Adaobi Marian, has reportedly died in Germany after sustaining critical injuries during a Russian airstrike in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Marian, a graduate of Kharkiv National Medical University, was injured in a guided aerial bombardment on the Ukrainian city on June 29.
She initially received medical treatment in Kharkiv before being transferred to Germany for specialised care due to the severity of her injuries.
Despite efforts by medical personnel in both Ukraine and Germany to save her life, she later died from injuries sustained in the attack.
Her death comes days after the same airstrike reportedly claimed the life of her friend, Fatima, who was said to have died at the scene of the incident.
