92% of Israelis Believe Iran Won War as Public Trust in Netanyahu Wanes
An overwhelming 92.1% of Israelis believe that Iran emerged as the definitive winner following the recent Middle East war and the subsequent diplomatic agreement signed with the United States.
The startling statistics come from a newly released public opinion poll conducted by the Agam Institute in collaboration with the Hebrew University.
The survey, which sampled 3,644 Israelis aged 17 and older, highlights a massive domestic backlash against the strategic outcome of the conflict and a profound collapse of public confidence in the political leadership.
According to the comprehensive data, an overwhelming 86% of respondents view the ultimate outcome of the military campaign negatively.
Furthermore, 82.9% of citizens state that the conflict and its diplomatic resolution have fundamentally weakened Israel’s long-term national security rather than strengthening it.
The findings represent a direct challenge to the official narrative put forward by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. While the premier has publicly insisted that the military campaign achieved significant gains and effectively dismantled an existential threat to the nation, 72.5% of Israelis explicitly stated they do not believe his assertions.
Additionally, 87.8% of the population believe the country either completely failed to achieve its primary war objectives or fulfilled only a minimal fraction of them.
When graded on individual performance, 56.4% of respondents rated the Prime Minister’s direct management of the campaign as poor or an outright failure.
The domestic frustration has also translated into an increased appetite for unilateral military action elsewhere. The poll reveals that 48.2% of Israelis now support launching a renewed, major military offensive against the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon, with respondents explicitly indicating they favour this course of action even if it hazards a direct diplomatic and strategic clash with US President Donald Trump.
