Abia Governor’s Wife Distributes Fertilisers to Women Farmers
The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Otti, has distributed fertilisers to women farmers in the state.
This kind gesture aims to support women involved in agriculture and help them boost their crop production. The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen food security and empower female farmers across Abia State.
Mrs. Otti handed out the fertilisers during a special event organised for the beneficiaries. She encouraged the women to make good use of the inputs to improve their harvests and increase their income.
Many of the women expressed joy and gratitude for the support, saying it would greatly help their farming activities.
This distribution highlights the important role women play in agriculture in Nigeria. Female farmers often face challenges in accessing farm inputs like fertilisers, seeds, and equipment.
By focusing on them, the governor’s wife is helping to address some of these gaps and promote inclusive growth in the farming sector.
The programme is expected to have a positive impact on food production in Abia State. Healthy crops mean more food for families and possibly surplus for sale in markets. It also serves as motivation for more women to engage actively in farming business.
Many residents have praised Mrs. Nkechi Otti for this thoughtful intervention. Such support for women farmers can help reduce poverty and improve livelihoods in rural communities. As the rainy season progresses, the fertilisers are expected to contribute to a better farming year for the beneficiaries.
