NDDC Launches Anti-Cultism Campaign for Akwa Ibom Students

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has rolled out a new campaign to fight cultism among students in Akwa Ibom State. The initiative aims to promote peace and discourage young people from joining secret cults in schools and communities. Officials believe this effort will help create a safer environment for learning and personal growth.

The campaign includes sensitisation programmes, workshops, and awareness activities designed specifically for students. Many participants are encouraged to say yes to peace and no to cultism. The message is being spread through schools, with students wearing special shirts that carry the strong anti-cultism slogan.

NDDC is working closely with school authorities, parents, and community leaders to make the campaign effective. They are teaching students about the dangers of cult activities, such as violence, poor academic performance, and ruined futures. The commission wants to build a new mindset where young people choose positive paths instead of destructive ones.

This move comes as cult-related issues continue to affect many parts of the Niger Delta region. By focusing on Akwa Ibom students, NDDC hopes to reduce incidents and set an example for other states. The programme also encourages students to report suspicious activities and support one another in staying away from cults.

The launch of this campaign has been welcomed by many parents and educators who want safer schools. If successful, it could help protect the future of thousands of young people in the state. Residents are now hopeful that the anti-cultism drive will bring lasting positive change to Akwa Ibom.
