B-Red Escapes Alleged Attack Near Osun Government House

Nigerian singer, B-Red has narrowly escaped what the Osun State Government described as an assassination attempt in Osogbo.

The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon around the Oke-Fia area, near the Government House, according to the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, in a statement issued on April 30, 2026.

Alimi alleged that suspected hoodlums, reportedly led by an individual identified as Asiri Eniba, attempted to attack the singer while he was driving through the area.

B-Red, whose real name is Adebayo Adeleke and who is a cousin of Davido and son of Ademola Adeleke, said the incident began as he was returning from Alekuwodo Market.

He explained that at a traffic point beneath the Oke-Fia Bridge, several commercial motorcyclists wearing similar caps attempted to surround his vehicle. According to him, the situation escalated when a white Toyota Venza approached, and one of its occupants identified him, prompting a pursuit.

The singer said the vehicle, along with multiple motorcycles, chased him through nearby streets and repeatedly attempted to block his movement.

He added that he was eventually able to drive into the premises of the Osun State Government House, where he found safety.

During the chase, B-Red claimed he recognised one of the occupants of the pursuing vehicle as the alleged leader of the group.

The state government described the incident as a serious security concern and said it had been reported to the police. It called on security agencies to swiftly apprehend and prosecute those responsible.
