Police Recruitment Is Free, Beware of Scams Warns PSC

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reminded Nigerians that recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force is entirely free. The commission has warned all applicants to be careful and avoid anyone asking for money or promising to help them get the job. Such demands are scams, and anyone caught involved in these tricks will face the law.

The written examination for those who want to join as constables is set for April 28 to 30, 2026. This test covers both general duty and specialist positions. It will take place at centres across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Only candidates who passed the earlier physical and document screening can take part.

In Lagos State, the exam will hold at the Police College in Ikeja. The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, advised candidates to follow all rules, arrive early, and behave well during the exercise. She said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Tijani, wants everyone to stay orderly and focused.

Qualified applicants should visit the official recruitment portal between April 24 and print their examination invitation slips in colour. They must come to the centre wearing white shorts, white T-shirts, and white canvas shoes. Other required items include a pen and the National Identification Number slip with a clear photo.

The PSC and the police force are working hard to make the whole process fair and open. They urged the public to report any suspicious activity immediately. This warning is meant to protect honest young Nigerians who want to serve their country from falling victim to fraudsters.
