NELFUND Disburses Over ₦85m to UNIZIK Students

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦85.8 million to 801 students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The funds, released in two batches, include ₦56,032,500 paid to 528 students under the sixth batch and ₦29,782,500 disbursed to 273 students in the seventh batch.

Details of the latest disbursement were confirmed in an official communication from the university’s bursary department, which acknowledged receipt of the seventh batch of funds.

According to the document, the ₦29.7 million credited to the institution’s account on March 18, 2026, covers tuition fees for the 273 beneficiaries under the student loan scheme.

The university management expressed appreciation to NELFUND for the continued support and assured that the funds would be applied to the intended beneficiaries.

The disbursements form part of ongoing efforts by the federal government-backed scheme to improve access to higher education by easing financial burdens on students.

NELFUND has continued to roll out payments to institutions across the country as part of its mandate to provide financial assistance to eligible students.

University officials indicated that they are expecting subsequent batches of disbursements as the programme progresses.
