Nigerian Students Have Never Had It So Good Under Tinubu, Says NANS President, Oladoja
The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Olushola Oladoja, has declared that Nigerian students are currently enjoying one of the most favourable periods in the country’s education history under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Oladoja made the statement while speaking on the state of student welfare and ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s education sector, noting that recent government policies have had a positive impact on access to education and student support systems.
According to him, “Nigerian students have never had it so good like the way we have it under President Tinubu,” stressing that ongoing interventions by the Federal Government are beginning to reshape the learning environment in tertiary institutions across the country.
He particularly highlighted student-focused initiatives introduced by the Tinubu administration, including expanded support schemes aimed at easing the financial burden on students and improving access to higher education.
He also pointed to increased engagement between government officials and student leadership as a positive development. Oladoja further commended efforts to address longstanding challenges in the education sector, including funding gaps and student welfare concerns, saying such steps reflect a renewed commitment to improving the system.
The remarks come at a time when Nigeria’s education sector continues to face scrutiny over issues such as tuition costs, infrastructure deficits, and economic pressures affecting students nationwide.
While the statement has generated attention within student and policy circles, reactions remain mixed, with some observers welcoming the perceived reforms and others calling for more tangible improvements in campus conditions and affordability of education.
The National Association of Nigerian Students, under Oladoja’s leadership, continues to play an active role in engaging government authorities on issues affecting students across tertiary institutions in the country.
