LASTMA Voices Concern After Dispatch Rider’sTragic Death on Otedola Bridge

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has spoken out about the growing dangers faced by dispatch riders on busy roads as another rider lost his life in a sad accident on the Otedola Bridge in less than 24 hours.

Officials say these workers who deliver food and goods on motorcycles are often left open to harm in heavy traffic.

This latest death has left many worried about safety on major highways in Lagos. Dispatch riders rush through crowded areas every day to meet tight delivery times. But fast-moving vehicles and poor road conditions make it very easy for accidents to happen, especially on bridges like Otedola.

LASTMA is now calling for more care from all road users. The authority points out that dispatch riders have become very vulnerable on these routes.

Without quick changes, more young workers could face the same fate while trying to earn a living.

Many people in Lagos depend on these riders for quick deliveries of meals and packages. Yet the risks they take daily are clear. LASTMA wants everyone to see how serious the problem has become and to help keep the roads safer.

With this fresh tragedy, the authority is urging drivers and riders to slow down and stay alert. They hope that better rules and more awareness will soon protect these hardworking dispatch riders across the city.
