Confusion in Adamawa Politics as Binani’s Faction Quits ADC

The Aishatu Binani faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has taken a bold step by rejecting the party’s leadership at both state and national levels. They announced their immediate resignation from the ADC, citing the collapse of internal democracy. The group is now urging Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani to look for a new and workable political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly the Adamawa governorship race.

This decision marks a major shift in the state’s political landscape. The faction believes the current ADC structure no longer serves their interests. By leaving the party, they hope to create better opportunities for Senator Binani and other members who want to contest in the coming polls.

Fresh rumours are now circulating that two prominent governorship aspirants may be aligning with Senator Binani’s camp. Dr. Maurice Vunobolki, who recently left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, is said to have resigned from the APC.

Popular philanthropist, Emmanuel Musa, who also recently exited the APC, is reportedly in talks with the same group.

These developments suggest that political realignments are already underway in Adamawa. With the 2027 elections still some time away, key players are positioning themselves for stronger chances. The possible coming together of these figures could create a new force in the state’s politics.

As the situation unfolds, many residents are watching closely to see where these moves will lead. The resignation of the Binani faction and the reported interest from other aspirants show how fluid and competitive politics in Adamawa has become. For now, all eyes are on whether these alliances will shape the next governorship contest.
