Vice President Kashim Shettima officially commissioned several multibillion-naira infrastructure projects in Borno State, marking a significant milestone in the state’s post-insurgency recovery.

The ceremony, held at the Government House in Maiduguri, showcased a diverse range of completed works aimed at urban renewal and social development.

During the event, the Vice President praised Governor Babagana Zulum for his “impressive” and “transformative” leadership. Shettima noted that the scale of the projects reflects a deep commitment to the welfare of the people, describing the Governor’s performance as a blueprint for effective governance in Nigeria.

The commissioned projects included a suite of newly constructed administrative buildings and high-impact infrastructure designed to modernize the state capital. These facilities are expected to streamline government operations and provide a more conducive environment for public service delivery across various sectors.

In addition to the physical structures, the Vice President highlighted the strategic importance of these investments in rebuilding Borno’s economy. He emphasized that such multibillion-naira initiatives are crucial for restoring the state’s status as a hub of commerce and stability in the Northeast region.

Governor Zulum, in his response, expressed gratitude for the federal government’s continued support under the “Renewed Hope” agenda. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to transparency and its 25-year development plan, which prioritizes reconstruction, rehabilitation, and the resettlement of displaced communities.

The ceremony was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders who gathered to witness the unveiling. The event underscored the strong political synergy between the Vice President and his successor, highlighting a unified front in the ongoing effort to transform Borno State.
