Veteran Nollywood actor and broadcaster, Patrick Doyle has announced the death of his newborn daughter, just hours after celebrating her birth with his wife, Funmilayo Doyle.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Doyle disclosed that the child, named Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle, died less than a day after she was born.

He said the baby was delivered on Friday morning but passed away the following day, describing her brief life as one that brought joy despite its short duration. He added that the family remains steadfast in faith amid the loss.

The actor had earlier shared news of the birth, expressing gratitude for what he described as a precious addition to his family.

The development has since drawn an outpouring of sympathy on social media, with fans and colleagues offering condolences and prayers to the bereaved family.

Doyle was previously married to Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle. Their marriage, which began in 2004, ended in divorce, a development she confirmed in 2023 during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on his show WithChude.
