The Oyo State Police Command has taken a middle-aged man named Segun into custody following the alleged murder of his younger brother, Sunday.

The tragic event took place within the Ona Ara Local Government Area of the state.

The conflict reportedly began after Segun had a dream that disturbed him deeply. He ultimately used a machete to attack Sunday, inflicting fatal injuries during the ensuing disagreement.

A community member who pleaded anonymity, provided details regarding the suspect’s motivation.

According to the witness:, “The incident happened on Friday. Segun woke up and started accusing Sunday of trying to kill him. He said he saw Sunday shooting him in his dream and that he had to act fast before the dream became a reality.”

The attack happened so quickly that neighbors were unable to protect the victim. The source added, “Before anyone could intervene, he picked up a machete and attacked Sunday. The younger brother died before he could be rushed to the hospital,”

State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the arrest and noted that the suspect’s psychological health is being evaluated. Regarding the legal proceedings, the PPRO stated, “The suspect is in our custody. From what we gathered, the incident was triggered by a dream the suspect had. We are also looking into his mental state to see if there are underlying issues.

The case will be charged to court once investigations are concluded,”
