We’re Not Coercing Civil Servants into Electronic Membership Registration, Says APC
The ruling All Prpgressives Congress, APC has denied allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants were being forced to join the ruling party.
The party maintains that its ongoing electronic membership registration remains entirely voluntary for all Nigerians.
National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka dismissed the claims as a baseless attempt to discredit the party’s digital drive. He argued that the high participation rate of government workers was a result of genuine interest rather than intimidation.
Defending the exercise, Morka stated, “The phenomenal turnout of Nigerians, including civil servants who voluntarily registered, proves that ADC’s coercion narrative is unfounded.”
He added that these allegations undermine the professionalism and constitutional rights of workers.
The party revealed that over seven million members had already registered since January, prompting an extension of the deadline to February 8, 2026.
This surge is attributed to “overwhelming public interest” in the party’s new digital database.
The APC concluded that the exercise’s success reflects confidence in President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.” The party remains committed to using digital innovation to strengthen grassroots political engagement across the country.
