Trump Dumps US-Iran Meetings, Encourage Protesters to Take Over

U.S. President Donald Trump has officially canceled all planned meetings with Iranian officials, citing the “senseless killing” of demonstrators during the ongoing nationwide protests.
In a statement posted on social media on Tuesday, the president declared that no further diplomatic engagement would occur until the violence against the Iranian people is halted.
This move marks a sharp escalation in the U.S. administration’s stance as the Islamic Republic faces its most significant unrest in years.
Beyond cutting off diplomatic channels, President Trump directly encouraged Iranian citizens to escalate their resistance. Using his Truth Social platform, he urged “Iranian Patriots” to continue their demonstrations and to “take over your institutions.”
He further warned the Iranian leadership that those responsible for the crackdown would “pay a big price” and instructed protesters to document the names of those involved in the violence.
The president also signaled that more direct intervention could be imminent, stating emphatically that “help is on the way.” While he did not specify whether this assistance would be military, economic, or logistical, the comment follows several days of public deliberation regarding potential U.S. military strikes.
These threats have heightened international concerns about a direct conflict between Washington and Tehran.
On the economic front, the administration has moved to further isolate Iran by threatening its global trading partners. The president announced a 25 percent tariff on any country that continues to do business with Iran, aiming to cut off the regime’s remaining financial lifelines.
This policy is intended to pressure the international community to align with U.S. efforts to support the protest movement and destabilize the current government.
Human rights organizations and news agencies are reporting a devastating toll from the crackdown, with some estimates suggesting the death toll has reached several thousands.
As the Iranian government maintains an internet blackout to stifle communication, the U.S. and its allies have intensified their rhetoric, with some American officials explicitly calling for “regime change” as the only viable path forward for the country.
