Police Summon Danagogo over Alleged Plot to Kill Wike
Former Rivers SSG Tammy Danagogo has been Summoned by Police Over Alleged Assassination Plot Against Wike Following Leaked Call.
The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police Force has requested the presence of Danagogo for interrogation regarding a leaked audio recording that purportedly reveals a conspiracy targeting Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
According to a formal summons dated January 9 from the Force Intelligence Department in Abuja, Danagogo is required to appear personally for an active inquiry.
Documents obtained indicate he must report to the IRT office in the Guzape area of Abuja at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 15, to meet with CSP Hillary Ugwuanyi’s investigative unit.
Danagogo, who maintains a close political relationship with Governor Siminalayi Fubara and served as SSG during recent state tensions, has been linked by various online media to the recording.
The audio reportedly outlines a scheme to move against Wike, who has long been a political adversary of Danagogo.
Earlier reports suggested that Dr. Tombari Joseph Gbeneol, a Port Harcourt physician and the lead pastor of Life Forte Chapel Church, was taken into custody by the IRT regarding this matter.
Intelligence insiders claim the arrest was triggered by a monitored call between Gbeneol and Danagogo, where they supposedly discussed logistics involving international partners and financial backing.
Top security officials have categorized the intercepted dialogue as a major threat to national stability, leading to immediate intervention by the IRT under Commissioner Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi. Dr. Gbeneol has allegedly remained in police custody for approximately 14 days.
While the Nigeria Police Force has verified that one individual is being held as the probe continues, they have withheld specific particulars.
Investigators are reportedly still working to uncover the complete scope of the alleged conspiracy and track down any other individuals involved.
