ADC Raises the Alarm Over Fake Online Membership Registration Platforms
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a fresh alert to Nigerians over the spread of fraudulent online links and social media accounts falsely presenting themselves as the party’s official membership registration portals.
In a statement released on Sunday and shared on X by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC clarified that it has not opened any online platform for public membership registration, warning that all circulating links should be treated as scams.
“At this time, ADC has not launched any public online membership registration link.
“The party is currently working on its official registration and verification platform, which will be formally announced through verified party channels in due course,” the statement read.
The party stressed that it does not solicit payments or request sensitive personal details through unofficial channels, including WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party websites.
It cautioned members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with unverified online content purportedly linked to the ADC.
Providing clear guidance, the party stated, “Do not click on suspicious or unverified links. Do not share unconfirmed registration messages.
“Do not submit personal information, including name, phone number, PVC details, BVN, or payment details, to any unverified platform. Report any suspicious links to the ADC through official party communication channels.”
The ADC further assured supporters that authentic information concerning party activities would only come through recognised platforms and formal announcements from its leadership.
“All legitimate ADC announcements, including the launch of the official membership registration platform, will only be communicated through verified ADC platforms and formal statements from the party leadership,” the statement added.
According to the party, steps are already being taken to curb the activities of fraudsters and safeguard the public, as well as protect the party’s credibility.
The warning follows a pattern of repeated attempts by scammers to exploit the ADC’s growing political relevance, particularly as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In July 2025, the party similarly distanced itself from a fabricated list of state chairmen and cautioned Nigerians against unauthorised online registration schemes.
At the time, Abdullahi described such actions as deliberate efforts to defraud unsuspecting citizens, urging the public to verify information through credible and official party sources.
