The Bayelsa State Government has confirmed the sudden death of Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo, declaring a three-day state mourning that has plunged the entire state into grief.

According to senior sources within Government House, Yenagoa, Ewhrudjakpo was attending to official duties when he suddenly slumped. Before becoming deputy governor in 2020, Ewhrudjakpo represented Bayelsa West in the Senate and served as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure.
