APC’s Victory in August 16 Bye-Elections ‘Imperative’, Boasts Kaduna Governor

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has declared that victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 16 bye-elections across the state is “not optional, but imperative.”

The governor made the declaration on Friday in Kaduna during the inauguration of the APC Campaign Committee for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, as well as the Basawa and Sabon Gari State Assembly bye-elections. He was represented at the event by his deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe.

Sani urged party stakeholders to demonstrate total commitment, strategic thinking, and unified action to ensure a clean sweep at the polls. He charged the committee members to put aside personal interests and sentiments, stressing that “the party must come first, and the people we seek to represent must be prioritised.”

He also called on the team to focus on projecting the APC’s ideals, its track record of governance, and its vision for an inclusive Kaduna State where “no one is left behind.”

In her remarks, Balarabe praised Sani’s leadership style, describing it as fair, equitable, and inclusive, with development projects spread across all senatorial districts, local governments, and communities. She said such governance had made the APC a party worth supporting, urging the campaign committee to remind voters of the benefits of political alignment.

“The campaign should prioritise the needs and concerns of the people while highlighting the APC’s achievements and vision for Kaduna State,” she added.

Party leaders at the event echoed the call for unity, stressing that the party must take precedence over individual ambitions.

Kaduna APC Chairman, retired Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, said the committee members were carefully chosen for their proven track records and urged them to remain focused.

The campaign committee chairman, who is also the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman, pledged that “all hands will be on deck” to deliver victory for the APC in the upcoming bye-elections.
