President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House Council Chambers, Abuja, where he also swore in the new Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) and the Permanent Secretary-designate.

The FEC meeting, which was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and other members of the council, focused on various matters of national importance, including the economy, security, and infrastructure development.

After the meeting, President Tinubu proceeded to swear in the new NASC Chairman and the Permanent Secretary-designate, charging them to discharge their duties with integrity, transparency, and accountability.

The President congratulated the new appointees on their well-deserved appointments, saying, “I am confident that you both possess the requisite experience, expertise, and character to excel in your new roles. I charge you to work tirelessly to promote the interests of the National Assembly and the nation at large.”

The new NASC Chairman and the Permanent Secretary-designate pledged to work closely with the National Assembly and other stakeholders to promote the welfare of legislative staff and enhance the overall performance of the legislature.

The ceremony was witnessed by other senior government officials, including the Chief of Staff to the President, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, and other members of the FEC.
