My Goal is to Win Rivers and Abuja for President Tinubu in 2027

The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain is planning to throw his weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 elections.

The move, which has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian political landscape, is set to have far-reaching implications.

According to insiders, Wike, who has been a vocal critic of the APC in the past, has been secretly meeting with top APC officials to discuss a potential alliance. The deal, which is still in its infancy, would see Wike’s political machinery in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) backing the APC’s candidates in the 2027 elections.

The move is seen as a major coup for the APC, which has been struggling to gain traction in the South-South region.

Wike’s influence in Rivers State, where he has been a dominant force in politics for over a decade, would provide a significant boost to the APC’s chances of winning the state in 2027.

While the PDP has yet to officially comment on the development, sources within the party have expressed shock and dismay at Wike’s decision.

“This is a betrayal of the highest order,” said a PDP stalwart, who wished to remain anonymous. “Wike has been a key player in our party for years, and to see him jump ship like this is a major blow.”

The APC, on the other hand, is ecstatic about the potential alliance.

“We welcome Wike’s decision to join forces with us,” said an APC spokesperson. “His influence and experience will be a major asset to our party, and we look forward to working with him to deliver victory in 2027.”

The implications of Wike’s move are far-reaching. The PDP, which has been struggling to regain its footing after a disastrous 2019 election, will have to regroup and reassess its strategy in the face of this new challenge. The APC, on the other hand, will have to navigate the complexities of working with a former opponent, while also managing the expectations of its own supporters.

As the news continues to sink in, Nigerians are eagerly awaiting Wike’s official announcement, which is expected to come in the coming days. One thing is certain, however the 2027 elections just got a whole lot more interesting.
