Police Arrest Four Suspected Cultists Over Robbery in Ogun
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested four suspected cultists in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area, over an alleged assault and armed robbery.
The suspects were apprehended following a complaint filed on April 16, 2026, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi. Items recovered from them include a locally made pistol, an axe, charms, and a stolen iPhone.
Police identified the suspects as Samson John (25), Olufowora Michael (28), Odeh Samuel Ejeh (25), and Olajide Jeremiah (28). They were arrested by officers attached to the Ilaro Division after being tracked in connection with the incident.
According to the police, the victim reported that the suspects, alongside other accomplices still at large, stormed his residence around 1:00 p.m., assaulted him, threatened him with an axe, and made away with his iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The command said further efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the gang, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for detailed investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers for their swift response and professionalism. He reiterated the command’s stance against cultism and violent crime, assuring residents that criminal activities would be dealt with decisively.
