North Central APC Forum Insist Shettima Should be Running Mate to Tinubu in 2027

A key faction within the All Progressives Congress has thrown its weight behind Vice President Kashim Shettima, amid mounting pressure for his removal as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the upcoming 2027 polls.
In a move seen as a show of solidarity, the North-Central APC Forum expressed its unwavering support for the current vice president, dismissing calls from some stakeholders in the North-Central region for a replacement.
The Forum’s chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, a prominent figure in the party’s 2023 campaign, outlined the group’s stance in a statement released in the nation’s capital.
The development comes on the heels of a demand by the North-Central Renaissance Movement, which has been vocal about its desire to see a vice presidential candidate from the North-Central zone in the next election. However, the North-Central APC Forum has distanced itself from this call, citing satisfaction with Shettima’s performance and affirming its confidence in his ability to continue serving as vice president.
