Tinubu Assures Stable Power to Fuel Nigeria’s Industrial Growth

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

President Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to providing stable electricity to drive economic growth and industrialization. Speaking in Bayelsa State, he emphasized that reliable power is essential for national development and improving the living standards of all citizens.

During the visit, the President commissioned a 60-megawatt gas-fired Independent Power Plant in Elebele. Built by the state government, this facility aims to reduce reliance on the national grid by using local gas to provide a consistent energy supply for the region.

The President noted that the new power plant is a strategic move to unlock investment and support small businesses. He stressed that industrialization and skill development are impossible without adequate power, making this project a vital step for the Niger Delta’s economy.

Beyond energy, Tinubu inaugurated several major infrastructure projects, including the Elebele-Igbogene ring road and Glory Drive Phase II. These developments are designed to enhance connectivity, alongside a new nine-storey civil service secretariat and an international stadium.

The President praised Governor Douye Diri’s “progressive leadership” and highlighted the importance of federal and state collaboration. He noted that such partnerships are crucial for addressing the immediate needs of the people and ensuring long-term national stability.

Addressing the current economic climate, Tinubu acknowledged the hardships caused by rising fuel costs and global pressures. He pledged that his administration would continue implementing reforms and fiscal measures to cushion these effects and support the most vulnerable.

Concluding his visit, the President expressed optimism for Nigeria’s future and urged citizens to remain patient. He reaffirmed that through continued investment in power and infrastructure, the nation remains on track toward becoming a prosperous and industrialized country.
