A massive fire broke out at the popular Tejuosho Market in the Yaba area of Lagos State, causing widespread panic among residents and shop owners. 

The inferno, which started in the early hours of the morning, quickly spread through sections of the market, lighting up the night sky with towering flames.

Distressing videos shared online captured the intensity of the blaze as it consumed numerous shops and stalls. The footage showed a thick cloud of black smoke billowing into the air, while onlookers watched in horror as the fire raged through the commercial hub.

Desperate traders were seen rushing to the scene in an attempt to salvage their merchandise before the fire reached their shops. Despite their frantic efforts, many business owners stood by helplessly as their investments and livelihoods were reduced to ashes within minutes.

Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, were deployed to the location to combat the fire. While they worked to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby residential buildings, the sheer scale of the fire made the containment operation extremely challenging.

The exact cause of the outbreak has not yet been determined, and authorities have launched an investigation to identify the source. Initial reports indicate that goods worth millions of naira have been destroyed, though no official statement on the total financial loss has been released.

Fortunately, there have been no confirmed reports of casualties or fatalities resulting from the incident. However, the tragedy has left many traders in a state of shock and despair as they face the daunting task of rebuilding their businesses from scratch.
