Seaman’s Schnapps Reaffirms Cultural Ties at 39th Lisabi Festival
Seaman’s Schnapps has reiterated its commitment to promoting cultural heritage following its role as the official prayer drink at the 39th Lisabi Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The annual festival, organised in honour of Lisabi Agbongbo Akala, attracted Egba indigenes from across Nigeria and the diaspora, celebrating unity, identity and tradition, while also focusing on youth empowerment under the theme, ‘Integrating Apprenticeship Training into Education: Opportunities and Challenges.’
According to organisers, Seaman’s Schnapps featured prominently in key ceremonial rites throughout the event, reflecting its traditional use in prayers, blessings and ancestral reverence within Yoruba culture.
Marketing Manager at Nigeria Distilleries Limited, Gbemileke Lawal, described the festival as a significant expression of Egba values and identity, noting that the brand’s involvement aligns with its commitment to cultural continuity and respect for tradition.
Similarly, Senior Brand Manager, Nnenna Onyenacho, said the festival represents a strong link between heritage and future generations, adding that the brand remains proud to support initiatives that preserve culture while inspiring younger people.
The event’s grand finale featured performances and appearances by notable Egba figures, including Muyiwa Ademola, Shina Peters, Yemi Solade and Sule Malaika.
Dignitaries and participants also paid homage to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Adedotun Gbadebo, underscoring the festival’s role as a unifying platform for the Egba people.
At the venue, the brand hosted interactive activations that drew large crowds, with Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson engaging attendees as part of the campaign.
The festival attracted thousands of participants, further reinforcing its status as a major cultural tourism event, with organisers noting continued efforts to preserve tradition and strengthen community values.
