Four Muslims Dead, 10 Missing After Plateau Attack, Confirms JNI

The Plateau State chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has confirmed that four of its members were killed, while ten others remain missing after an attack on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area on Sunday.

The disclosure was made on Tuesday by the organisation’s state secretary, Salim Umar, in a statement issued after what he described as thorough investigations and feedback from Muslim communities affected by the incident.

According to the statement, the latest findings form part of a broader toll from the attack, which reportedly left 28 people dead and several others injured.

JNI said some of the deceased have been identified at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, while the whereabouts of the ten missing individuals remain unknown. It noted that families of the missing persons have been unable to reach them since the incident, with their phone lines switched off.

The group also stated that two victims are currently receiving treatment at the hospital, adding that it is maintaining contact with the affected families.

JNI expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and urged residents to remain calm. It also acknowledged the efforts of the Plateau State Government and security agencies in restoring order to the area.
