NBA Celebrates First Female SAN, Folake Solanke, at 94

The Nigerian Bar Association has celebrated Chief Folake Solanke on the occasion of her 94th birthday, describing her as a trailblazer and a defining figure in Nigeria’s legal profession.

In a statement issued on Sunday by NBA President, Afam Osigwe, the association praised Solanke for her pioneering achievements and her contributions to the advancement of women in law.

The NBA noted that her attainment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria marked a significant turning point, breaking barriers and creating opportunities for women to aspire to higher professional standards within the legal field.

It added that her career and commitment to justice have secured her a lasting place in the history of Nigeria’s legal system.

The association further described her life at 94 as a demonstration of resilience, purpose and sustained excellence, noting that her influence continues to guide and inspire legal practitioners, especially women.

The NBA congratulated her on the milestone and prayed for her continued good health, peace and the enduring impact of her legacy.
