Edun Credits Tinubu’s Reforms for Economic Growth, Poverty Reduction
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has attributed Nigeria’s recent economic progress to the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the policies are gradually easing poverty and strengthening growth.
Speaking on Friday at the 8th National Convention of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja, Edun addressed attendees on behalf of the Federal Executive Council. He explained that key government measures are beginning to steady the economy and restore investor confidence, adding that the country is moving toward the goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.
He also pointed to the expansion of APC leadership across states, stating that the party now has 31 governors, up from about 21 just over two years ago. According to him, this broader political alignment reflects growing national cohesion, which he believes is essential for driving economic advancement and tackling poverty effectively.
