Nigerian Navy Donates Home to Family of Fallen Officer in Abuja
The Nigerian Navy has presented a two-bedroom bungalow to the family of a deceased officer, Leading Seaman Aliyu Aminu, who died in active service.
The house, located in Karshi, Abuja, was handed over on Tuesday to his widow, Sahadatu Aminu, on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, Idi Abbas.
Represented by Rear Adm. Raheem Taofeek, the naval chief said the gesture was aimed at recognising the sacrifice of fallen personnel and supporting their families.
He noted that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to boost morale among serving officers and demonstrate the Navy’s commitment to their welfare.
Aminu was killed in January 2025 during operations in Zamfara State.
Speaking on behalf of the family, MWO Isah Daniel expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as timely and a source of comfort during a difficult period.
The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising the welfare of its personnel and urged Nigerians to continue supporting the armed forces in ensuring national security.
