Troops Recover Arms, Destroy Drug Hideouts in Cross River Raid
Troops of the Nigerian Army have recovered weapons and destroyed suspected drug hideouts during a security operation in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The early morning raid, conducted around 6:00 a.m. on March 20, targeted the Isabang community and was carried out by soldiers from the 13 Brigade following actionable intelligence.
Security sources said the troops conducted a comprehensive search of the area, leading to the recovery of five Dane guns, eight live cartridges, and a Garmin GPS device.
In addition to the weapons recovered, the soldiers identified and demolished three locations believed to be used for illicit drug activities.
The operation, according to sources, forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to combat criminal activities, including arms proliferation and drug trafficking, in the region.
Authorities say similar operations will continue as part of broader measures to maintain peace and enhance security across affected communities.
