Police Free 10 Kidnapped Victims in Katsina State

The Nigeria Police Force successfully rescued 10 individuals who had been kidnapped in Katsina State.

The victims, including two drivers and eight passengers, were abducted by suspected bandits while traveling along the Funtua-Gusau highway.

The daring rescue operation took place after the police received intelligence on the whereabouts of the victims. Acting swiftly, officers from the Faskari Division launched a tactical operation aimed at rescuing the hostages.

A gun battle ensued between the police and the kidnappers, forcing the criminals to flee the scene, leaving the victims unharmed.

In a statement, the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Gambo Isah, confirmed the success of the operation, praising the courage and dedication of the officers involved.

“The victims were successfully rescued and are now receiving care and support. We will continue to intensify efforts to rid the state of criminal elements,” Isah said.

The police also recovered valuable information during the operation that may lead to the arrest of other members of the gang. The authorities have assured residents of Katsina State that they will remain vigilant and continue to work towards ensuring the safety of all citizens.

This successful rescue is seen as a significant achievement in the ongoing battle against banditry and kidnapping in northern Nigeria, where such criminal activities have been a persistent problem. The police have vowed to continue their efforts to combat the scourge of kidnapping and restore peace to the region.
