Iranian state television has officially confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
He was killed during a massive joint military operation by the U.S. and Israel targeting his high-security compound in Tehran.
The strikes also claimed the lives of several members of the Supreme Leader’s immediate family. Reports from state outlets confirm that Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law, and grandson were killed in the bombardment alongside top military aides.
This loss has triggered a massive security and leadership crisis within the Islamic Republic’s power structure.
U.S. and Israeli officials characterized the mission as a preemptive strike to dismantle Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure. President Trump described the event as a historic turning point, suggesting it offers the Iranian people a chance to reclaim their government.
The admission by state media marks the definitive end of Khamenei’s 37-year rule.
