Kwara PDP Suspends Moro LG Chairman, Orders Disciplinary Investigation
The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the party’s Chairman in Moro Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Musa, over allegations of gross misconduct.
The suspension was announced on Saturday in a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, following a resolution of the State Working Committee at its meeting held on February 20 at the party secretariat in Ilorin.
The party said the suspension would remain in effect for one month, pending the outcome of an investigation by the appropriate organ of the party.
“Consequently, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Musa is hereby suspended for a period of one month and has been referred to the State Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.
“This step is to ensure that due process is followed and to provide the affected chairman the opportunity to defend himself in line with the fair hearing provisions enshrined in the party’s constitution,” the statement read.
The PDP also constituted a disciplinary panel to examine the allegations, with the State Deputy Chairperson, Wosilat Macarthy, appointed to lead the committee.
During the period of suspension, the party directed Mr Musa to refrain from carrying out any official functions or presenting himself as the Moro Local Government Chairman of the PDP.
