President Tinubu Appoints James Faleke Deputy Chief of Staff

By 𝔸bdulrazak Tomiwa

President Bola Tinubu has reportedly appointed Hon. James Faleke as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President.

This administrative move aims to strengthen the executive arm and streamline the coordination of government policies and legislative relations.

James Faleke, a seasoned lawmaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, represents the Ikeja Federal Constituency. His appointment is widely seen as a reward for his long-standing loyalty and strategic roles within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

As the former Secretary of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Faleke played a pivotal role in the grassroots mobilization that led to the President’s victory.

His deep understanding of the President’s political vision makes him a trusted ally for this State House role.

The appointment is expected to bridge the communication gap between the Presidency and the National Assembly. Given Faleke’s extensive experience as a three-term lawmaker, he is well-positioned to foster a productive relationship between the executive and legislative branches.

Various political groups had previously advocated for Faleke’s inclusion in the Presidency’s inner circle. They cited his intellectual vibrancy and proven track record in public service as essential qualities for managing the complex affairs of the Nigerian government.

Faleke will work closely with the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to ensure the effective implementation of the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda. This team is tasked with stabilizing the economy and improving national security architecture.
