Purge Yourself of Anti-Atiku Sentiments, Dele Momodu Tells Bode George

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has urged elder statesman and prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, to “purge himself of anti-Atiku sentiments” following recent comments critical of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Momodu’s remarks come in response to a recent interview in which George questioned Atiku’s continued presidential ambition, suggesting it was driven more by personal interest than national or party considerations. George reportedly argued that the former vice president’s repeated bids for the presidency have deepened internal divisions within opposition politics. Reacting via his verified account on X, Momodu defended Atiku’s constitutional right to seek elective office, stressing that no individual should be vilified for pursuing political aspirations in a democratic setting. He stated that while George is entitled to his opinion, his criticism of Atiku appeared excessive and personal.
