Nigerian Defence Academy Alerts Public to Fraudulent Invitation Claim

The Nigerian Defence Academy has warned members of the public against a fraudulent admission letter allegedly issued to one Abubakar Washima, stating that the document did not originate from the institution.

In a statement shared on its official X handle on Saturday, the academy dismissed the purported invitation letter, which claimed the recipient had been selected for admission into the military institution, describing it as fake.

The Academy Public Relations Officer, Major Reuben Kovangiya, said any official invitation for screening or offer of admission into the academy is communicated through recognised national newspapers and published on the NDA’s official website.

The academy urged the public to disregard the fraudulent correspondence and cautioned prospective candidates to rely solely on verified official channels for information regarding admission processes.

It further advised that any suspicious documents or activities related to admission be promptly reported through its official direct messaging platforms for verification.

The warning, according to the academy, is aimed at protecting prospective applicants from falling victim to scams and reinforcing the importance of obtaining accurate information directly from authorised NDA sources.
