Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho has offered to help the Federal Government clear bandits and terrorists from South-West forests.
Speaking in Ibadan, he expressed his readiness to lead his supporters into the bushes to restore safety to rural communities.
Igboho emphasized that his mission requires official government approval and logistics support. He noted that his recent pardon allows him to collaborate with authorities to rid Yorubaland of rogue herders and criminal threats.
Declaring his commitment to the task, Igboho stated. “I’m ready to enter the forests in Yorubaland with my boys to flush out terrorists who have been attacking our people in rural communities.”
This offer marks a major shift after Igboho’s years of exile and legal battles with the state. He previously fled to Benin Republic following a deadly raid on his home by security forces in 2021.
The activist also advised IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to prioritize diplomatic dialogue with President Tinubu. He praised Kanu for canceling the Monday sit-at-home order, calling it a necessary step toward regional stability.
Igboho maintains that he has the manpower and local intelligence needed to secure the South-West. He believes a partnership with the government is the most effective way to protect the region’s rural residents.
