Arabinrin Aderonke Lays Father to Rest in Blaze of Glory
Family , friends, and dignitaries gathered in Ibadan on Friday to pay their last respects to Engineer Samuel Ogunleye, the 80-year-old father of Aderonke Arabinrin, Technical Assistant on Broadcast Media to the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).
The late engineer, who passed away on December 11, 2025, was laid to rest in his ancestral home, marking an emotional farewell filled with reflection and celebration of a life well-lived. At New Glory Baptist Church, the officiating pastor, J.O. Alagbe, encouraged mourners to cherish life, describing death as a natural passage rather than an end. Drawing from Luke 16 and John 3:36, he likened the deceased’s departure to “changing his address” and reminded attendees of the inevitability of death. Jesus died once for the redemption of all mankind, and so man shall die but once,” Pastor Alagbe said. He urged the congregation to avoid sin, which he described as “poison,” and to make meaningful contributions that leave a lasting impact. The funeral attracted high-profile guests from the NRS and the Presidential Villa, including Tope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, and Dr. Anule Emmanuel, chairman of the State House Press Corps. After the church service, a reception at the Devine Grace Event Centre in Ibadan celebrated Engineer Ogunleye’s life, offering family, friends, and colleagues a chance to honor his legacy of integrity, community service, and positive influence.
